EU Gives Approval to Untested "Swine Flu" Jabs For Use From Today
Paris : The European Commission has rushed through approval for the use of two untested "swine flu" vaccines in the 27 countries of the European Union as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.The European Commission Tuesday approved two swine flu vaccines for use in the European Union as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The untested vaccines, Focetria developed by Novartis (NOVN.VX) and Pandemrix developed by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), will be available before the start of the flu season.Earlier
The European Union's Commissioner for Industry Guenter Verheugen said the quick decision made by the commission will reduce the risk of illnesses and deaths for European citizens.
