My mother had the H1N1 vaccine after it was suggested by her doctor. Ever since, she has become susceptible to allergic reactions of all kinds. She's had dogs for years and only after the vaccine did she become allergic to them. She has also developed allergies to fruits (even organic) and in general to certain environments. This is very upsetting.

Anonymous, are you suggesting some connection between polio vaccination and the reduction in polio in some particular country?

If so, can you substantiate it? Or is it merely more of the usual hearsay concerning the effectiveness of vaccinations in reducing mortality from diseases that had practically disappeared by the time any mass vaccination against them was implemented -- such as whooping cough, diphtheria, tuberculosis, and scarlet fever (against which there has never been any vaccine)?

Hi all... its a sad indecent; no money can return what a mother lost so please don't do comparison of money. the whole medical system is sick because it runs on money and insurances rather than humanity; a person which can not afford the heavy insurance amounts will end up to bank corrupt if his health goes bad. An operation which takes $25000 here can be performed in $2500 in countries like India without any insurance and by far better doctors <as a majority of doctors here are form india/pakistan. Her grandchild died the day of your post and yet she were spending time on the internet posting comments? Sorry, but I doubt this story. I can't imagine a doctor giving ANY vaccine to a child with a fever - it's a clear contraindication and any first year medical student would know that. And giving a vaccine without signed permission? No doctor would blatantly set themselves up for a lawsuit in this way.

IF this story is true - did it ever occur to you that the child may have died of H1N1 and not the vaccine? The child was already sick with symtoms compatible with the flu and "special-needs" children were at the highest risk of all children for death from H1N1
People need to stop believing everything written on the internet. Perhaps the original poster could do a follow-up post with more info. or some proof to back up her story.

BTW - it's not true that vaccine manufacturers are "shielded" from any liability. People can file lawsuits through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program instead of suing manufacturers directly.

Additional comments about parenting going to the doctor. Example, one mom has two disabled children from vaccines. She did not take her child for his exam two weeks ago within one week the CA Health department sent her a letter as to her "non-compliance" and to make sure she gets him in for his vaccines"...the doctor was a Nazi and reported her....I have a form from the AMA they did for doctors to hand their patients now which would blackball them if they do not vaccinate no other doctor will take them it will be on the computers as it is already. One medical assistant was pregnant, refused the swine shot and still each appointment they demanded she take the shot, finally she told them< :" what part of the word NO, don't you understand ?"

Dear Anecdote!and others writing in on this I am the grandmother of Christian Deon Smith ( a boy not a girl) who died Oct. 4th buried in Lansing, Michigan Oct. 9th, 2009 after he went for his 1 yr well check. His first shot was swine flu and the nurse did not ask any question of his parents. She also gave him 5 others with it. He died in 48 hours. The doctor was at the funeral in the back, grabbed my daughter as we walked out to the limo for the graveyard saying how sorry he was...another dr told my daughter they had a meeting and said, yes it was too much for him. Christian had an autospy and they took his brain out for vaccine testing........still want to defend the damn ignore doctors now ?
